What: K-Laser is an FDS-cleared therapeutic treatment that manages pain and inflammation while accelerating tissue regeneration.
How: Laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain.
Why: We’ve added laser therapy to our practice’s full-body services because we want to provide a high-tech treatment option for our patients to heal quickly, recover fully, and reduce pain effectively.
With the current worsening opioid epidemic, the importance of non-opioid treatment alternatives to help patients with acute and chronic pain has become increasingly important.
One such non-opioid alternative is laser therapy, a clinically proven adjacent therapy modality widely used in clinical practice for managing pain and inflammation. If you’re looking for a futuristic approach, All Seasons Full Body Chiropractic Center, LLC of Fargo is here to help!
No. Low-level lasers do not generate perceivable heat. Therefore, when the laser contacts the skin, the patient experiences no warmth or burning as a result of the laser. Most people feel nothing at all while a select few may feel a slight tingling during the treatment.
For most patients, the results have been sustainable. While some patients benefit from immediate results, others require several treatments before there is a lasting effect. Since each person’s condition varies, the doctor or therapist will determine after review of your case if laser treatments can benefit you.
There are more than 3,000 scientific research studies on laser therapy. These investigations verify the clinical value and effectiveness of laser therapy when delivered by trained professionals.
People with a pacemaker or other types of implants or prostheses can still safely receive cold laser treatments. It may be necessary to adjust treatment times and dosages for patients with artificial joints since implanted metal can reflect laser light in a way that increases absorption. We suggest you contact your clinician and discuss dosage prior to treatment at our chiropractic center.
Many people will see a reduction in symptoms immediately. Others will experience relief more gradually. How fast your symptoms improve will help your clinician design the most effective treatment regimen.
Acute conditions may be treated daily, particularly if they are accompanied by significant pain. More chronic problems respond better when treatments are received 2-3 times a week, tapering to once a week or once every other week, with improvement.
This depends on the nature of the condition being treated. For some acute conditions, 4-6 treatments may be sufficient. Those of a more chronic nature may require 6-12 (or more) treatments. Conditions such as severe arthritis may require ongoing periodic care to control pain.
You may feel improvement in your condition (usually pain reduction) after the very first treatment. Sometimes, you will not feel improvement for a number of treatments. This does not mean that the condition is not improving. Each treatment is cumulative and results are often felt after 3-4 sessions.
Yes. Laser therapy is often used with other forms of treatment, including physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, soft tissue mobilization, electrotherapy, and even following surgery. Other healing modalities are complementary and can be used with laser to increase the effectiveness of treatment.
There is little or no sensation during treatment. Occasionally, one feels a mild, soothing warmth or tingling. Areas of pain or inflammation may be sensitive briefly before pain reduction.
During more than twenty years of use by healthcare providers all over the world, very few side effects have ever been reported. Occasionally, some old injuries or pain syndromes may feel aggravated for a few days, as the healing response is more active after treatment.
The typical treatment is four to eight minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.
Yes. There are thousands of published studies demonstrating the clinical effectiveness of Laser Therapy. Among these, there are more than one hundred rigorously controlled, scientific studies that document the effectiveness of laser for many clinical conditions.
